Modern Anxiety, The “New Concept” and Cellphones On The Back Patio

Richard Gere By Herb Ritts, 1982. The Île Saint-Louis. That’s the location above. Possibly similar to my life, in more ways than I thought. House phone by the pool. Girl in a 2 piece. Postcard material for the folks that I don’t see.

I said my last story was going to be it for awhile. I lied. Here I am, crafting a couple days later. I mean, the sun came out, I had intentions to wait on this piece. But I knew I was disinterested in not writing. So I decided to cultivate.

I know that these aren’t new problems, there’re just old ways. I want a leopard on a leash. Something that doesn’t bite because it’s restrained. Wouldn’t that be divine for the culture of sheep and Shepard’s?

I know that it’s modern anxiety based rituals. That’s the first part of this segment. It’s the phones, man. It’s the boxed apps. It’s the flame. The fire. The gnashing teeth. I hate it. I envy the older generation who can’t figure out how to turn on airplane mode. I sit and ponder these up to the minute figures of assurance.

Is it a genocide?

It must be. Indiscriminate killing of the youth. The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. That’s a Steve Jobs reference.

Now let’s talk about the news. CNN. The wild Fox. Through a TV. Don Lemon. A whiskey sour.

Sunday to Sunday. All day long. This quote from a profound source I found fits right in the middle of this article.

“I’m watching this three ring circus. Old lions don’t roar, so the clowns ain’t nervous”

I felt that. Old lions don’t want to spook the clowns. They have too much knowledge, the lions I’m talking about.

But in all seriousness what is it with these new telecommunication ways? Direct message. A swipe. A retweet. It does nothing but make the RICH RICHER. And us, as Americans. We love that.

A “New World” of random algorithms. That’s all it is. Compacted into a rusty vault.

I lied in the title. This New Concept. It really isn’t new. It’s the same.

It’s phrases that sound like a waitress asking “How’s your meal?” when you are still eating. Similar to an interruption at a chain restaurant, actually that’s exactly what it is. Chains don’t break. Unless you cut them. This is just a rant, I apologize.

Gosh. The irony.

The irony of what? said the leopard on the leash that I mentioned above.

“Our world will not die as the result of the bomb, as the papers say, it will die of laughter, of banality, or making a joke of everything, and a lousy joke at that.”

It’s something similar to the saying above. This story is so bland you assume it had flavor. You got this far. It’s almost over. Might as well clean the plate.

The modern anxiety is technology simple as that. It’s the blood that floods our veins. It’s the followers, the herd. It’s the comments of the committee. It’s nothing more or less than that. We listen to rap music in front of our elders to act superior, fucking uncanny. If it wasn’t for the phones we’d all be humble in a different way. Trust me.

The New Concept.

Like I said. It’s a lost thought. It was never State-Of-The-Art.

Now cellphones on the back patio. This was just a thing I used to say. Meaning what? Service is crisp where the sun shines. Going outside to do inside actitivies. Modern day boredom.

I’m a has been” said Rick Dalton on my 55 inch Tv. I feel that. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Great damn film. My better days are behind me. This part alone starting with the quote, I said it out loud in southern california accent. Appericate that.

I mean alright, there is nothing else to say at this point. What a waste of a story. Hey, maybe not. Maybe this will reach the audience of the people who assume this piece has a meaning or desire or some sort.

Cheers. That’s it.
